PRODUCTION DESIGN
FOUL
Horror short film. A woman is haunted by the ghost of her recently deceased spouse on a rural farm.
Signs of lonliness are displayed by clutter and less care given to certain items, like the dying bouquet of flowers. Because the protagonist lives in a rural area, some of the technology is a bit less up-to-date.
Items were sourced second-hand when possible to contribute to the home feeling lived in for a long time. This also helped with budgetary constraints as it was a low-budget film.
A mix of sugar, water, and food coloring was slighly burnt onto the pot, which was hard to clean on camera but easy to clean after a soak post set
Practical effect of sink dripping blood
Created crates flimsy enough to be destroyed on camera out of cardboard and sheets of extrememly thin wood
Created crates that were breakable on camera out of cardboard and an extremely thin wood
